FOUND! London taxi community praised by Kate Garraway for locating lost purse
British television presenter Kate Garraway has praised London’s taxi drivers for their swift response in reuniting her with a lost purse.
The incident unfolded during a journey from Leicester Square to her North London home, with a stop at St Pancras to purchase train tickets.
After discovering the loss, Garraway took to social media platform X to voice her frustration. Despite attempts to recover the purse through official channels, including Transport for London (TfL), her efforts proved fruitless. In a direct appeal, she asked anyone who might know the black cab driver involved to come forward.
Garraway’s call for help resonated widely, gaining over 1 million views. The appeal led to a successful outcome, with the purse being returned, much to her relief.
In a follow-up post on Sunday, Garraway expressed her gratitude, singling out the London taxi community for their support. Garraway said on Sunday: “This is not a place famous for love right now but a huge thanks to my X community for reuniting me with my purse!!! Particularly Black Cab London CMT UK Taxi - you are absolute angels. I got to my dad in hospital on time & really saved my bacon - love to you all.”
