A woman from Caerphilly has been ordered to pay a hefty fine of almost £2,000 after being caught operating as an unlicensed taxi driver on three separate occasions.
Danielle Helen Buckley, aged 43, was prosecuted by the council's trading standards team following an extensive investigation.
As reported by the South Wales Argus, Cwmbran Magistrates' Court heard how Buckley was apprehended while driving a Kia Ceed in Pontlottyn and Tir-Y-Berth between the dates of 17-20 January. The defendant later pleaded guilty to three counts of acting as a hackney carriage driver without a licence.
The court imposed a fine of £500 on Buckley. In addition to the fine, she has also been ordered to pay £1,255 in costs, along with a £200 surcharge.
