Essex Police appeals for footage after taxi collides with broken-down BMW injuring passenger

Essex Police are investigating a collision on the A127 at Laindon that left a taxi passenger with serious facial injuries.
The incident occurred shortly after 8.05pm on Saturday 1 March, when a taxi collided with a stationary broken-down BMW Z4. The crash took place between the Mayflower Retail Park and the Burches Roundabout, causing the road to be closed for around three and a half hours.
A woman travelling in the taxi sustained serious facial injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police are appealing for witnesses and any available footage showing the moments leading up to the crash. They are particularly keen to review dashcam or CCTV recordings from the area.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Essex Police, quoting incident 1064 of 1 March.
An Essex Police spokesperson said: “We want to thank the public for their patience and are appealing for anyone who has information about what happened to come forward.
“In particular we want any footage of either vehicle in the moments before the collision.
