Edinburgh taxi and PHV checks produce only "minor infringements" as police continue enforcements
Edinburgh Police South East took to the streets for a weekend of taxi and private hire vehicle checks.
A spokesperson for the police said that 18 private hire and hackney carriage taxis were inspected in total.
Out of the 18, three warnings were issued for minor infringements, with all drivers that were checked engaging positively with the officers.
Edinburgh Police took to social media to highlight the weekend of enforcements as they continue their 'Drive Safe' and 'Road Safety' campaign in the build up to Christmas.
In a tweet, a spokesperson for the police said: "Over the weekend officers carried out mobile winter safety checks on licensed vehicles in the city centre.
"18 private hire vehicles and taxis were stopped, 3 warnings issued for minor infringements. All drivers stopped positively engaged with officers."
