Dashcam footage catches the moment Addison Lee driver almost causes catastrophic M25 crash

Updated: Feb 9, 2020

Footage of a high speed near miss collision has been shared across social media, highlighting the dangers of pulling out from the hard shoulder.

The dashcam video, filmed from within a lorry travelling in the near-side lane of the M25, shows an Addison Lee private hire vehicle suddenly pulling out from the hard shoulder straight in front of fast moving traffic.

A vehicle can be seen reacting fast and stopping just in time as the driver attempts to avoid smashing straight into the rear of the Addison Lee vehicle at around 55mph.

The lorry driver, unable to slow down in time, was lucky to have just enough time and space to move along into the middle lane to avoid what almost definitely would've been a catastrophic collision.

The footage shared on Twitter by @Paulbeadle3, says: "On M25 this morning heading back towards Cobham, he pulls straight off the hard shoulder into the path of fast moving traffic. Someone needs to teach these idiots how to drive. (J9 Letterhead) PN69EYO @AddisonLeeCabs."

An Addison Lee spokesperson has confirmed the company are looking into the incident.
