Curb Flow arrives in San Francisco aiming to boost taxi efficiency and earnings

San Francisco’s taxi landscape is undergoing a transformation with the introduction of Curb Flow, a technology-driven platform designed to streamline operations for drivers and improve ride availability for passengers.

Curb, a leading ride-hailing and taxi solutions provider in North America, has expanded this innovative service to the tech capital, marking a major step forward for the city’s transport sector.

Curb Flow works by consolidating ride requests from multiple sources, including app bookings and fleet dispatch systems. This ensures a steady supply of trips for drivers while enabling passengers to experience quicker, more reliable services. Since its debut in 2023, the platform has quadrupled Curb’s network activity, underscoring its potential to modernise urban transportation.

The expansion in San Francisco is further bolstered by a strategic partnership with Yellow Cab, the city’s largest taxi fleet. This collaboration is set to increase the number of taxis available on the streets, reducing wait times for passengers and improving accessibility citywide.

For drivers, Curb Flow presents an opportunity to maximise earnings. By integrating trip requests from various channels, the technology minimises downtime, keeping drivers on the move and enhancing their daily income. With San Francisco joining other major US cities such as New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles in adopting the platform, Curb’s growth trajectory shows no signs of slowing.

Curb’s growing network of partnerships, including collaborations with Uber, transit authorities, and technology firms, highlights its commitment to innovation in urban mobility. The company’s services now connect over 100,000 drivers in more than 65 cities across the US and UK, powering millions of rides annually.

San Francisco’s adoption of Curb Flow signals a significant shift in how traditional taxi services compete and thrive in a tech-driven era, setting a benchmark for cities worldwide.

Amos Tamam, CEO of Curb, said: “Expanding Curb Flow to San Francisco is a natural fit. Our technology is designed to meet the demands of this vibrant, fast-paced city, giving drivers the tools they need to succeed and ensuring passengers get where they need to go quickly and safely.”

Chris Sweis, Chief Executive Officer of Yellow Cab, said: “Our partnership with Curb represents a forward-thinking move for Yellow Cab and the entire San Francisco taxi industry.

“By integrating Curb Flow into our operations, we’re expanding our fleet’s reach and setting a new standard for what modern, efficient taxi service looks like in a city known for its innovation.”

Daniel Gebreselasie, a veteran taxi driver in San Francisco, said: “The addition of Curb Flow to our city is a game-changer. It’s not just about getting more rides; it’s about getting better rides. I’m seeing more trips come through consistently, and that directly impacts the bottom line.”
