Chauffeur-driven LEVC TX treat reunites mother and daughter for Afternoon Tea

A 92-year-old mother and her daughter were reunited for their first day out in years this week, thanks to a partnership between the London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC) and Sutton Rose care home.
Jean, a resident at Sutton Rose in Sutton, and her daughter Anne, who lives in Buckinghamshire, were treated to an afternoon tea trip ahead of Mother’s Day on 30 March. The day also doubled as a birthday celebration for Anne.
Mobility issues and distance had made such outings difficult for the pair in recent years. However, a specially arranged experience gave them the opportunity to spend time together once again.
Anne was collected from her Buckinghamshire home in an LEVC TX vehicle and driven to Sutton to pick up her mother. The pair were then chauffeured to Fairlawns Hotel & Spa, where they enjoyed a luxury afternoon tea. They were later returned safely to their respective homes.
Jean has lived at Sutton Rose, operated by Macc Care Group, since September 2022. The site holds personal history for her, as it once housed the school where she worked as a secretary. Her current bedroom is close to the location of her former office.
The outing formed part of Macc Care’s wider commitment to creating experiences that help residents connect with their families. The collaboration with LEVC also emphasises the value of accessible travel options for older people.
Anne said: “It’s been so lovely being taken out. The ability to get mum into the TX is fantastic, and without that we wouldn’t have been able to get out.”
Anne added: “Sutton Rose was by far the best home, mum really enjoys all the activities, getting her nails done and the quizzes. She also loves the food. And because the location was close to where she lived, and she has her former work connection, it’s really been great for her.”
Jean said: “I appreciate everything they have done, couldn’t have asked for anything better.”
Bhav Amlani, Director at Macc Care Group, said: “We were delighted to work with LEVC to arrange such a lovely day out for Jean and Anne. Creating experiences for our residents is central to our ethos at Macc Care, so this was the perfect opportunity for us to do something Jean could enjoy and remember.”
Daniel Cross, Sales Director at LEVC, said: “We’re delighted that Jean and Anne were able to celebrate Mother's Day in style thanks to TX’s purpose-built, fully accessible design. Already established as one of the world’s most iconic and recognisable vehicles, TX also acts as an invaluable transport solution for care homes and other businesses that need safe, flexible, and inclusive mobility for their residents and customers.”
