A cabbie in Nottingham has been reported for driving with two tyres below the legal limit after taxi enforcement officers performed roadside checks.

As well as being reported, the vehicle was also taken off the road with immediate effect.

A spokesperson for the enforcement team said: "After inspection, vehicle taken out of action and reported for two front tyres below the legal limit, putting themselves and passengers in danger."

Anyone caught driving with an illegal tyre is likely to be hit with 3 penalty points per tyre, as well as a hefty fine.

As a licensed driver, in this case they will also likely be called before their licensing authority to answer for their actions.
