Over 100 staff members from the Single Homeless Project (SHP) in London will benefit from guaranteed transport during the festive season, thanks to a partnership with ride-hailing company Bolt.

The service, funded by the charity and facilitated by Bolt, will ensure reliable journeys between Christmas Eve and Boxing Day, with additional rides on New Year’s Day. This initiative comes as public transport faces significant disruptions during the holiday period.

SHP staff will be picked up from their homes and dropped at key centres across the capital, with return journeys also covered. The scheme guarantees seamless commutes for essential workers, regardless of journey length, enabling them to focus on providing vital services for homeless Londoners.

Vicky Ames, Head of Communications at SHP, emphasised the importance of supporting staff during this critical period. Ames said: “Our teams work incredibly hard to support people experiencing homelessness over the winter break. By paying for guaranteed taxi journeys to and from work, we can help make their commutes as seamless as possible.”

Jack Cook, Head of Bolt Business for the UK, echoed this sentiment. Cook said: “We are proud to partner with the Single Homeless Project to ensure their staff have reliable transport during the festive season. These dedicated individuals play a vital role in supporting some of London’s most vulnerable people, and we are honoured to help them focus on their crucial work by removing the stress of travel."
