A Blackburn cabbie has been arrested after a roadside drugs test showed they were under the influence of cocaine and cannabis whilst working.
The arrest came during an evening of joint enforcement action by Blackburn & Darwen Police and Blackburn Council.
A spokesperson for the police said: "Team 1 response officers have carried out a multi agency operation with Blackburn Council Taxi Licencing officers.
"Around 20 taxis were stopped, 4 drug searches were carried out and sadly a taxi driver was arrested on suspicion of drug driving after failing a roadside drug test for cocaine and cannabis whilst working.
"A really positive result for keeping your roads and community safe."
It was not made clear if the driver held a hackney carriage taxi licence or a private hire licence. TaxiPoint have contacted the police for confirmation.
