Black taxi campaign highlighting key COVID-19 safety features now set to launch UK-wide
A distinctive black cab campaign highlighting the positive safety aspects when travelling in a taxi during the COVID-19 outbreak is now set to launch across multiple UK cities.
Last month London Taxi PR (LTPR), an organisation which promotes the licensed London taxi profession, launched the new ‘Safe Passenger Travel’ awareness campaign, which is now displayed on both sides of hundreds of black taxis in the capital.
Since its launch numerous cities, including taxis from Glasgow, Edinburgh, Liverpool and Manchester, have joined the campaign in a bid to to spread the message.
The campaign highlights the safe inbuilt partitioning between the driver and passenger compartments, the sanitised interiors and the ability to perform contactless payments in all taxis.
A spokesperson from LTPR said: “There has so far been a fantastic response and take up of our Safe Partitioned Travel Taxi super-sides campaign.
“Drivers, as well as some businesses such as CMTUK, are coming on board to not only pay for some of their drivers to have the messaging fitted, but they have also generously signed up to support London Taxi PR as a business, at a time when we really appreciate and acknowledge their support.”
“We would encourage other businesses and fleet owners to do the same, as some are very generously donating the advertising space on the side of their taxis, which helps promote the campaign and what we do."
The LTPR spokesperson added: “The word and clamour for the super-sides messaging is now spreading to cities including Glasgow, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham, so hopefully this will encourage customers into taxis in those areas, again for the benefit of everyone, after all, we are all in this together.”
Glasgow Taxis, a firm that runs a fleet of over 800 taxis and the largest supplier of licensed taxis in Glasgow, showed their support for the campaign by displaying the new design via social media. The tweet read:
A spokesperson from CMT, a large payment solutions provider to the taxi industry, said via social media: “Great campaign concept. Communicates all the key points extremely effectively.”
