ASSAULT: Second arrest made in Colchester after taxi driver treated for fractured skull and bleed on the brain
A second man has been detained in connection with an assault that left a taxi driver with serious head injuries in Colchester.
The incident took place in the early hours of Saturday 2 November, when a man in his 40s was found injured on Brinkley Grove Road around 1.50am.
He was transported to hospital for treatment of a fractured skull and a bleed on the brain. Fortunately, he has since been discharged and is now recovering at home.
On 5 November, a 21-year-old man presented himself at Colchester Police Station and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. He has been released on bail, pending further investigation, with a return date set for 23 January.
A second man, previously detained over the weekend, has also been released on bail until 23 January.
Essex Police continue to investigate and urge any potential witnesses to come forward. They are particularly interested in any CCTV, dashcam, or other footage that could assist in understanding the events leading up to the assault.
