Appeal to find cabbie who dropped female off in High Wycombe moments before being sexually assaulted



Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after a serious sexual assault which occurred in High Wycombe. The incident happened on Saturday 26 February between 2.05am and 2.40am.


A woman exited a taxi and was in Limmer Lane, where she was approached by a man who sexually assaulted her.


The assault continued onto Booker Common where the victim struggled with the offender, who then ran away down Limmer Lane towards Cressex Road. The victim sustained minor injuries.


The offender is described as a black Afro-Caribbean man, very tall with a skinny build. He was wearing dark clothing, including possibly a puffa jacket. His hair was in tight braids which went into a top bun.


In particular, officers are looking to identify the taxi driver, who dropped the victim off in Limmer Lane. He is not considered a suspect, but could have vital information about the offence.

He is an Asian man and was driving a large, dark, possibly six seater taxi.


Investigating officer, Detective Sergeant James Rocks, based at High Wycombe police station, said: “This was a serious sexual assault, and we are doing everything possible to identify and apprehend the man responsible.


“We are particularly keen to identify the taxi driver who dropped the victim off, as he may have seen this offender. If this is you, or if you think you know who this could be, please contact us immediately.


“I understand that this incident could cause concern in the community, but I would like to reassure everyone that we are carrying out a very thorough investigation.
