Angus Council seeks public views on wheelchair accessible taxi availability

Angus Council has launched a survey to gather public opinions on the availability and effectiveness of wheelchair accessible taxis in the region.
The council licenses both taxis and private hire vehicles across the area. This latest research, conducted in partnership with the TAS Partnership, aims to assess whether accessible taxis meet the needs of passengers with mobility challenges.
Accessible taxis are designed to accommodate wheelchair users and may include additional features to assist passengers with physical or sensory impairments.
The council is particularly interested in hearing from individuals who have used these services, as well as from carers, family members, and organisations that arrange accessible transport.
Residents can complete the survey online via the Engage Angus website. Hard copies are also available by contacting the council or visiting public libraries, ACCESS offices, and council buildings in Forfar and Arbroath.
The survey runs from 18 February 2025 to 17 March 2025. Angus Council is urging residents to spread the word, particularly to those who may not have access to digital platforms, to ensure a broad range of responses.
