Taxi drivers across England will be hoping for the financial support which is part of the Chancellor’s £100million discretionary fund to support sectors who supply the hospitality and leisure sectors.

Hertsmere Council has promised its drivers a £500 payment. Cabbies applying are being urged to indicate in the further details box of the form that they are a taxi driver to stop the application being rejected.

All applications will be validated and subject to a number of pre-payment checks before a determination is made as to whether the business is eligible for a grant and how much. Payment will be made as soon as practical after the assessment has been made.
