4 prohibition notices were issued to taxi and private hire vehicles during a day of enforcement which saw 34 licensed vehicles checked by Nottingham City Council.

The roadside checks were carried out in Nottingham City Centre by the council in conjunction with Nottingham Police, Wolverhampton Council, DVSA, Erewash Borough Council and Gedling Borough Council.

Using their official Twitter account to highlight the day of enforcement, Nottingham City Council Licensing (@NCCLicensing) said: "An enforcement operation was held in Nottingham City Centre.

"34 licensed vehicles checked, 4 prohibition notices issued, 1 driver & PHV with an expired plate."

Reasons as to why the 4 prohibition notices were issued have not been released. TaxiPoint has approached Nottingham City Centre Licensing for more details.
