North Yorkshire Police hunt Uber driver who spat at woman
North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses and information about an assault that occurred in York.
The assault, which took place on Fifth Avenue at 10am on Friday 28 June, involved a man driving a silver Skoda, the vehicle is believed to be an Uber.
The driver of the vehicle is alleged to have blocked the road to oncoming vehicles and then shortly after spat at a woman who was driving a red vehicle along Fifth Avenue at the time.
The police are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident. In particular, they are appealing for information about a potential witness who was behind the woman’s vehicle at the time of the assault and initially got out of their vehicle to speak with the man involved before the alleged assault. A police spokesperson said: "anyone with information that could assist the investigation should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2, and ask for Kira Lewis.
