Uber driver filmed telling student ''Jews control our minds, the media" during London t

Michael Murphy

An Uber driver has been captured on film telling a Jewish passenger that “Jews control our minds, the media”. Nottingham University student Josh Lee, 19, had been picked up along with three others after an Independence Day event at the Israeli Embassy in London on Tuesday night when the driver launched into a diatribe about the US, Jews and the Congo.

Speaking to the Jewish Chronicle, Mr Lee said that when the driver found out that one of the passengers was from America his expression changed and he began saying that the US and "Jews" control the world, the media and the Congo.

At this point, Mr Lee began to film the conversation on his phone without the driver knowing.

The driver then referenced Dan Gertler [Israeli diamond magnate] saying that 10 million people died in Congo during genocide because of him. The driver then goes on to partly blame Jewish people for the Congo war and told Mr Lee if he didn't think he was right then he should go on the Internet and type 'Commonwealth' where he would see all those at the top were Jewish.

The Uber driver went on to rant that if Jews decided to stop the war in Congo, it would stop immediately.

Mr Lee and the other passengers ended their trip in Golders Green after the language used by the driver became too upsetting for them to continue listening to.

According to the JC, the police and Uber are investigating the incident.
