Girl Gang jailed for a number of violent robberies on Birmingham Taxi drivers

A girl gang who terrorised taxi drivers in Birmingham with a number of violent robberies have been sentenced to prison time at Birmingham Crown Court. Xavie Cole, 18, was sentenced to four years in prison after admitting ten charges of robbery. One of Cole's accomplices, a 17 year old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been sentenced to two years and four months after pleading guilty to three robberies. The gang would lure drivers to secluded locations where they would then violently attack them, robbing them for their cash earnings, mobile phones and even on a number of occasions stealing their vehicles.

The gang carried a number of weapons including a combat style knife which on some occasions would be held to the threat of their victims. One victim suffered a laceration to his thumb. Another victim was beaten badly while laying on the floor before the girl gang made away with £150. The two gang members were eventually identified from CCTV footage from a number of different locations. Passing sentence, Judge Mark Wall QC said;

“The group picked on vulnerable people. All but one were taxi drivers working at night and were in the main deliberately lured to a scene so that they could be robbed.”
