18 cyclists were intercepted and reported for jumping red lights in London's Shoreditch area during a 90 minute period, the Metropolitan Police have revealed.
Operation Vision Zero took place on the corner of Hackney Road and Kingsland Road on Saturday night.
14 officers in total stood watch in their high-visibility jackets as the offenders still proceeded to cycle through red lights.
All 18 cyclists were reported for the offence and educated on road safety.
The offenders will now have to pay a £50 Fixed Penalty Notice (if paid within 28 days). If they fail to pay, a court summons will be issued.
Highlighting the offences on social media, a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police Roads and Transport Team said: "MPSRTPC Hackney STT Officers were in high vis on OpVisionZero along Hackney Rd j/w Kingsland Rd enforcing safe cycling.
"14 officers in hi Vis jackets didn't deter 18 cyclists from jumping red lights. All reported for offences & educated on safety. Cycle safety. Get home safely."
