Three licensed drivers in Liverpool have had their licences revoked with immediate effect after repeatedly failing to attend mandatory drug tests, according to Liverpool City Council Licensing.
The council’s licensing team said the action was taken by the Licensing Committee after each driver failed to attend testing despite receiving three requests to do so.
Liverpool City Council Licensing said: “Today three licensed drivers have had their licences revoked with immediate effect by Licensing Committee, after failing to attend mandatory drug tests after 3 requests to do so.”
The statement did not identify the drivers or specify whether they held Hackney Carriage or private hire driver licences. No information was provided on why the appointments were missed.
The immediate revocations mean the three individuals can no longer work under the affected Liverpool licences. The council’s statement linked the enforcement action to drug-driving and taxi safety.
